GRAPE VARIETY
100 % Syrah.
SOIL
This plot is the birthplace of the Saint-Joseph AOC in Tournon-sur-Rhône (250m high). Very steep slopes of decomposed granite.
VINIFICATION
Grapes are destemmed. Maceration in concrete vats (for a better thermic inertia) for about 4 weeks (depending on the vintage).
Extraction made by pumping over and punching down. |
AGEING
The barrel ageing lasts for 12 to 14 months in oak (10% new oak).
TASTING
Colour : bright, deep ruby colour.
Nose : very pure nose with aromas of small very ripe black berries and a lot of minerality.
Palate : very deep and mineral wine, with spicy and very ripe red fruit aromas. Very long lasting wine. |
