100 % Syrah.
SOIL
This lieu-dit is located in the south
of the appellation Cornas, this is a
small hillock with steep slopes of
decomposed granite. Fully south
facing. Early ripening site.
VINIFICATION
Grapes are destemmed.
Maceration in concrete vats (for a
better thermic inertia) for about 4
weeks (depending on the vintage).
Extraction made by pumping over
and punching down. |
AGEING
The ageing lasts for 12 to14 months
(10% new oak).
TASTING
Colour: very deep and intense ruby colour.
Nose: rich with aromas of very ripe
and slightly jammy fruit (black
currant, blueberry and blackberry).
Palate: very powerful and rich wine
with a very dense structure.
Aromas of very ripe black fruit and
spices. Very dense tannins. Very
long lasting wine. |
